THE OPPORTUNITY

Syncron is currently looking for a professional services leader to join our fast growing Expert Services team. Syncron offers you an exciting and challenging position working with large multinational companies choosing Syncron’s products to optimize and deliver value in the aftermarket business.

You, together with your global project team, will lead our enterprise customers on their agenda to transform their service and after-sales business into a competitive differentiator. We are seeking an ambitious, dynamic, customer-focused Portfolio Manager who will leverage a direct team of consultants, and a network of offshore and partner-resources, to drive Expert Services operations and outcomes across a group of enterprise customers and projects.

This role requires experience in leading and managing a team of consultants, supporting the delivery to ensure that the customer achieves the value outcomes, meets the core consulting KPIs as well as supporting Sales efforts to grow the business.

You will work directly with customer management and our commercial organizations (Business Development, Sales and Customer Success Managers) as well as Product Development.

You will have a passion for the team, working cross-functionally to support delivery, to win new customers and propose new and improved, ways of selling and delivering Expert Services.

The position includes:

  • Leading a team of consultants and project managers
  • Overseeing multiple projects across many large customers
  • Driving customer satisfaction through professional services
  • Ensuring that projects remain on time and on budget, and working with customers on change requests where needed
  • Leading efforts that include both direct and indirect resources, such as offshore consultants, external consultants, and SIs, as well as leaders in Product Management and Development.
  • Working with Sales on business development, including scoping work and writing SOWs
  • Leading Steering Committees as well as stakeholder and change management
  • Providing leadership and direction to the project teams delivering within your portfolio
  • Directly supporting escalated projects (Amber or Red) to identify the path to Green status
  • Driving KPIs across the portfolio, including gross margins, CSAT, utilization, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS degree; advanced degree or MBA preferred but not required
  • Extensive project management background
  • Technical background, with an interest in leveraging technology to reach world class business objectives; direct implementation experience with software solutions strongly preferred
  • Experience leading a technology based professional services team (or very similar function)
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • 7+ years of professional work experience, including 3+ years of people management
  • Experience working with Commercial teams and Partners to help win deals
  • Experience working with pricing management applications or extensive ERP experience

We’d prefer you to be based in our Chicago office, but will consider remote candidates. The position will include about 25% travel the vast majority of which will be in US.
