THE ROLE 

Opportunity 

We are seeking a highly commercial Pricing & CVM Strategy Lead to join one of our leading fintech ventures, Oakbrook. This role will report directly to the CFO but work collaboratively at the intersection of Finance, Risk and Marketing. Key responsibilities 

The Pricing & CVM Strategy Lead is a vital role within the Blenheim Chalcot portfolio and this role will take charge of our Lending Strategy & Pricing team at Oakbrook Finance.

 

Specific duties 

Depending on the project, you will need to be comfortable doing the following: 

New Business Pricing Strategy:

  • Design, implement and evaluate pricing and acquisition strategy campaigns and tests to better understand existing and prospective borrowers and sustainably grow profitability with full P&L ownership.
  • Monitor, report and analyse competitor movements and market dynamics and make pricing decisions off the back of this analysis.
  • Maintain and document internal pricing strategy changes and market/operational events tracker to inform future pricing strategy changes.

Customer Value Management:

  • Full P&L ownership for existing customer value management including working closely with Marketing, Risk and Finance to optimise existing customer marketing campaigns, eligibility and pricing for top-up loans and repeat loans.
  • Maintain and document CVM strategy changes and market/operational events tracker to inform future strategy changes.

Portfolio Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Work with Risk and Finance teams to own, oversee and improve modelling of holistic customer lifetime value and NPV/IRRs by cohort and segment, considering and developing understanding of yield trends, repayments behaviour, impairment rates, funding costs and servicing costs.
  • Develop and maintain regular weekly and monthly reporting to track latest estimates of LTV by cohort and segment and comparing to estimates at point of origination and budget, using this data to make decisions around future strategy and operational changes.

Leadership:

  • Select, train and manage a new team of 3-4 Data / Pricing Analysts from the BC India talent pool in Mumbai to work on productionising pricing/CVM related MI/reporting and developing pricing/CVM strategies and analysis.
  • Setup and chair new regular Product & Pricing Committee bringing together Senior Management and subject matter experts from Risk, Finance and Pricing/CVM.
  • Attend Board meetings and present findings and recommendations around Pricing/CVM matters to Oakbrook Senior Management Team and Directors/Shareholders.

 

ABOUT YOU 

The ideal candidate will have a track-record in delivering results in a fast-moving business and hence be comfortable with change and uncertainty. Excellent stakeholder management experience is essential to being successful in this role. 

The Ideal Candidate 

  • Experience as a Senior Manager leading Pricing/CVM strategy and analysis in a consumer lending business or bank is essential
  • Advanced SQL, Excel skills and one or more of SAS/R/Python.
  • You will have proven success in driving sustainable, profitable growth in consumer lending books.
  • You will have experience identifying business opportunities, analysing the competitive landscape, and developing Pricing/CVM strategy that is aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
  • You will be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate and drive growth, and have the flexibility to adapt to a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
  • You will possess the business acumen and broad financial perspective to act as a strategic sounding board to the Senior Management Team and Board.
  • You will be a dynamic and disciplined thinker with a strong intellect, an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for making a mark in fast-paced, growing environments.
  • You will be pragmatic and outcome-oriented, with a bias for action
  • You will have experience operating in a matrix and constantly changing environment, and will have demonstrable experience navigating a fast paced, dynamic working environment.

LOCATION

The role is office-first and based at Blenheim Chalcot’s Scale Space campus in White City London. The role also requires travel to Oakbrook’s Nottingham office once a month and to BC India’s offices in Mumbai 1-2 times per year.
