We have a newly created opportunity for a Full Stack Principal Engineer to serve as a key member of the leadership team of our Engagement Camp (Camp’s are what we call our product teams).
This is a well established team and will see you working across our flagship Engagement product, helping companies understand their people and make meaningful change to their workplace culture This mostly takes the form of collecting feedback through surveys and allowing people across an organisation to understand and act upon that data in a truly meaningful way.
Software Engineering at Culture Amp is an inclusive practice distributed across cross-functional, lightweight Agile teams, which are remote-friendly, and all of which embrace flexible work arrangements. You will be surrounded by talented engineers, and a cross-functional team including product management, design and delivery.

You will
- Drive technical excellence in line with the Culture Amp’s Tech Vision to meet the needs of the company.
- You will support the evolution and execution of a product and technical strategy for the camp
- Ensure Team Leads and engineers in your camp are supported, productive, enjoy their work, have clear remits, and help them to resolve issues to improve culture and engagement to maximise their impact on our mission.
- Put in place metrics that drive the correct prioritisation of activities in your camp that deliver the most value to Culture Amp.
- Ensure a steady flow of consistent communication within and across all of our Camps. Facilitate knowledge-sharing, plan visibility and alignment of large initiatives between the Camps and the VP of Engineering.
- Mentor the Team Leads, Tech Leads, Staff Engineers and the rest of the engineers in your camp, to support their needs and development, and to drive consistent, sustainable technical excellence.
You have
- Significant experience working as an engineer on complex systems, with a track record of producing high quality systems that work together.
- Strong front end architecture experience as well as hands on experience in technologies such as Typescript and React
- Excellent facilitation and stakeholder management skills - You make clear and timely decisions in the face of many nuanced trade offs and varied opinions.

- Able to chart a path on a long term journey through much complexity, change and ambiguity.
- A clear communicator who can share a compelling plan and the reasoning behind your decisions, ensuring campers with varying degrees of experience and context can understand your message and approach.
- A natural coach and teacher - You always make time to coach and teach all those around you. This includes engineers in your camp, your peers and those you report to.
- A Driver - You get things done and you like to roll up your sleeves and get to work, pushing a number of initiatives forward simultaneously
