We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Paralegal to be a key part of MongoDB’s dynamic legal team. This position sits at the intersection of compliance, privacy, and risk, requiring someone who can effectively manage multiple workstreams while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment where they'll interact with lawyers, business stakeholders, and external partners on both day-to-day matters and long-term strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities Compliance Management
  • Improve and scale comprehensive export control and anti-corruption processes, ensuring MongoDB’s business activities adhere to relevant international regulations and sanctions
  • Oversee Know Your Customer (KYC) and sanctions documentation and verification workflows, flagging potential issues for legal review
  • Create and manage compliance tracking systems and third-party tools to monitor ongoing adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Support the development of compliance training materials and assist in delivering training sessions to relevant teams
  • Coordinate with business units to implement compliance measures that balance legal requirements with operational efficiency
  • Research regulatory requirements applicable to new product capabilities and markets
Privacy & Data Protection
  • Collaborate with the privacy team to manage and respond to data subject access requests in a timely manner
  • Assist in maintaining data processing records and conducting regular audits of privacy practices
  • Draft and review privacy notices, consent forms, and data processing agreements
  • Monitor regulatory developments in data protection law and help prepare impact assessments
  • Support privacy impact assessments for new products, services, or business processes
Required Qualifications
  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent qualification
  • 3+ years of experience, preferably in-house experience with a tech company, particularly in the SaaS/cloud computing space
  • Demonstrated experience with compliance processes, particularly export controls and KYC
  • Familiarity with privacy laws and data protection regulations (GDPR, CCPA, inter alia)
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders across different levels of seniority
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools
