StepStone Private Debt targets privately negotiated transactions across corporate, real estate and infrastructure debt.

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will join the Private Debt Investment team and assist the team in various tasks, including sourcing and diligence of new investment opportunities, monitoring existing investments and various tasks around the management of client portfolios. The position is an ideal entry point to gain broad experiences in the growing Private Debt asset class. Internship for a minimum of six months for immediate hire.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of financial markets in general with a focus on fixed income investments, demonstrable through higher degree studies with a focus on Finance. In addition, the candidate is an entrepreneurial and detailed-oriented individual with strong communication skills. The candidate should be able to grasp complex situations in a short period of time, have good time management skills and demonstrate ability to prioritize the workload.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Support in sourcing, analysis and diligence of potential fund investments, co-investment opportunities and secondary transactions across a broad spectrum of Private Debt strategies.
  • Regular participation in interaction with external investment managers
  • Conduct portfolio, performance, and investment analysis
  • Assist and perform ad hoc projects and reviews for internal usage or related to client requests.

Qualifications:

  • Masters’ degree in Finance or close to completion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word & PowerPoint). VBA knowledge is a plus.
  • Good data management and analytical skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, with demonstrated history of taking initiative, being adaptive in a fast-changing environment, and working independently.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize workflow in fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
  • Follow-up skills and acute attention to accuracy and detail are essential
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written), German is a plus
