Want to help us help others? We’re hiring!

GoFundMe is the world’s most powerful community for good, dedicated to helping people help each other. By uniting individuals and nonprofits in one place, GoFundMe makes it easy and safe for people to ask for help and support causes—for themselves and each other. Together, our community has raised more than $40 billion since 2010.

Join us! The GoFundMe team is searching for a Product Revenue Accounting Lead to help us scale the future in a fast-paced environment that's growing rapidly!

This role will lead the accounting strategy behind GoFundMe’s internal ledger build, an essential system that will ensure accuracy, scalability, and control across our high-volume, global transactions. As a key strategic partner to Product, Engineering, and Finance, you’ll own and shape the ledger infrastructure that powers automated revenue recognition, transparent fund flows, and system-integrated compliance with accounting standards.

Beyond the ledger, this role also supports the technical revenue accounting function, translating new product and business model ideas into compliant accounting treatments and durable systems. You’ll design scalable workflows, embed SOX-ready controls, and drive automation and audit readiness across our platform’s most critical revenue processes. If you're passionate about bridging advanced accounting standards with forward-thinking technology, and want to help build foundational systems from the ground up, this is your chance to make a lasting impact on GoFundMe’s growth, financial reporting excellence, and mission to help people help each other.

The job…
  • Lead the accounting design and implementation of GoFundMe’s internal ledger system for global revenue and fund flows.
  • Translate accounting policy (ASC 606) into system-integrated logic in partnership with Product, Engineering, and Data teams.
  • Collaborate on ledger architecture and ERP integration, embedding controls, automation, and reconciliation frameworks.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance for new product launches and monetization models, assessing revenue impacts and ensuring GAAP compliance.
  • Build scalable, SOX-compliant workflows to support accurate and timely revenue recognition across high-volume, multi-currency environments.
  • Own and refine reconciliation and close processes, enabling clean audit support and strong operational controls.
  • Use SQL and analytics tools to validate data flows, troubleshoot anomalies, and ensure ledger accuracy; fluency in interpreting and debugging data is essential, though building complex queries from scratch is not required.
  • Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, Tax, and Operations to develop standard operating procedures that drive top-line accuracy and public-company readiness.
  • Support ad hoc analyses and strategic initiatives with data-driven insights that enhance financial decision-making and platform integrity.

This is a high-impact role for someone who wants to be hands-on in building financial infrastructure from the ground up.

You…
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including both public accounting and in-house industry roles with a focus on systems and revenue recognition.
  • Deep understanding of US GAAP, especially ASC 606, and a proven ability to operationalize technical guidance into scalable systems and controls.
  • Experience designing or supporting accounting ledger builds or large-scale data integrations in complex, high-volume environments.
  • Demonstrated ownership of revenue close processes, reconciliation, and audit preparation across global transactions.
  • SQL fluency or ability to effectively work with data partners to interpret, debug, and validate accounting data flows.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and integration points between product/data pipelines and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and project management skills; ability to manage priorities and translate between business and technical teams.
  • CPA or equivalent strongly preferred.
