Your role:

We have an opportunity for an accomplished, hands-on project manager with proven experience in aviation or automotive assembly! In this key role, you will drive the setup of Lilium's Aircraft Battery production facility.

Managing our production capability acquisition, including new factories, technology, and process implementation. Our production organization aims to set new standards with best-in-class, reliable, digital production.

Your Day to Day:

  • Securing project plans for the development of a new battery production facility. This includes prototype production projects as well as process development, design, and implementation of pilot lines and series production facilities.
  • Manage programs across partner organizations, contractors, and project PMOs.
  • Work closely with Aircraft Programme project management teams to effectively coordinate complex cross-functional and cross-organizational inter-dependencies.
  • Document and manage requirements, risks and opportunities, actions, and other crucial program-relevant information
  • Facilitate regular meetings, define KPIs, and track progress. This includes setting up a visual programme management, coordinating between different parties involved and following up on critical path actions, managing time, cost, and resource aspects

About you:

We are looking for a Project Manager with proven experience in industrialization and factory setup. Our strong preference is for experience of battery industrialization, but related experience gained within aviation or automotive industry will be considered.

As we ramp up quickly from predominantly manual processes to automated ones, we would love to see experience of working in a similar environment alongside a proven ability to handle complex issues, solve tricky problems and come up with workable solutions.

Experience with the development and implementation of cell technology and exposure to high-volume production would be an advantage.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in project management or operations positions with experience in high-volume, automated manufacturing new factory projects. Experience with green-field projects is preferred
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a drive to challenge the status quo
  • Demonstrated cross-functional leadership skills
  • Excellent understanding of techniques for scheduling, risk management, estimation, project communications and budget and resource management
