The role and the team

As a Senior Android  Engineer, you will design, implement technical and product solutions to offer seamless meal selection flow and streamlined checkout experience for our Hellofresh Customers. Together with an engaged and sophisticated team of web and mobile engineers and product managers, we will solve and enhance our Hellofresh customer facing experience that will be used across different markets.

The Cart Experience team is responsible for maintaining and building the Hellofresh meals and addons selection funnel, the subscription addons, the Cart Checkout screen, the Age verification, Past delivery and Favorites and much more exciting features. Therefore, you will  be collaborating with different internal stakeholders and Alliances. Proposing scalable, accurate and highly maintainable technical solutions are key success factor areas in this regard.

• Create and build an excellent mobile experience for millions of customers, who interact with our apps every week.
• Focus on delivering a seamless  and pleasant user experience
• Take an active ownership of our engineering and process quality and our testing strategy
• Be part of true agile and solution oriented squads, collaborating cross functionally with Engineers, Designers, Product Owners and Data Engineers
• Contribute to the learning and advancement of our Engineering Best Practices while offering mentorship to other colleagues

What you’ll bring

• You have extensive  working experience with Android development and Kotlin
• You can contribute independently and inspire from the requirements phase to rollout 
• You are able to define and drive technical improvements
•  Quality is your first spoken language; automated tests (unit, functional, end-to-end), documentation, and continuous integration.
• You are enthusiastic about software development best practices, like advanced Design Patterns, Clean Code and Architecture, Agile Development
• You love to stay up to date and evaluate, learn and use the latest technologies
• You have experience with RxJava/RxKotlin or Coroutines/Flows 
• You have a good understanding of microservices, REST services and API design.
• Knowing one or more of these will be a plus: Fastlane, A/B Testing, JetPack Compose, Espresso, Design Systems, GraphQL
