We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our dynamic and innovative team. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and maintenance of the backend systems for the operation of our satellite constellation, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and high-performing. This includes:

• Backend Development: Design, implement, and maintain scalable and high-performance cloud based backend systems that meet the business requirements.
• Architecture: Contribute to the architectural decisions and design discussions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability of the backend infrastructure. 
• Performance optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks in the backend systems, optimizing code and database queries for efficiency.
• Code Review: Conduct and participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, and QA engineers.
• Testing and Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and automated testing processes to ensure the reliability and quality of the backend systems.
• Technology Stack: Work with a variety of technologies, including but not limited to Java, Python, Cucumber and Gherkin, AWS, GraphQL, Apache Kafka, ELK Stack, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Technology Evaluation: Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential to enhance the company's software solutions.
• Leadership: Mentor and guide junior members of the Backend team.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• At least 6+ years of proven experience as a Backend Developer with a focus on designing and building scalable systems
• Proficiency in multiple back-end technologies and a strong understanding of cloud technologies, microservice architectures and design patterns
• Experience with database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL), message brokering systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka) and modeling of data and communications between systems
• Demonstrated experience with API design and development
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration systems (e.g., Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with development of Edge Computing/IOT systems would be a plus
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines and software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent written and spoken English
