About the team 

SumUp is seeking a skilled Senior Data Analyst to bolster the Global Finance Analytics Team and aid SumUp's strategic initiatives. Your role will involve supporting the Global and European FP&A team by building data models, generating reports, and providing advanced analysis and actionable insights. As part of the Analytics Chapter, you will contribute to the effective utilization of data across SumUp.

 

What you'll do:

  • Driving strategic data OKRs aligned with SumUp's business objectives, such as small merchant segmentation and readout.
  • Creating efficient data models that track financial performance and KPIs, from acquisition to churn, including metrics like payback, LTV or CAC; with dbt.
  • Collaborating closely with Senior Leadership to develop optimal strategies and enhance areas based on data-driven insights and qualitative analysis.
  • Developing advanced dashboards to facilitate self-service analytics for the team.
  • Effectively communicating findings and delivering actionable insights to steer business outcomes.
  • Demonstrating strong technical expertise, encompassing proficiency in Finance, stakeholder management, and data visualization tools.
  • Embracing continuous learning and growth, contributing significantly to the business by being part of an experienced data team and actively engaging in the chapter's development.

 

You'll be an excellent fit for this role if you possess:

  • Over 5 years of professional work experience in data analytics.
  • Proficiency in data model design, preferably with experience in dbt, and collaborative development using Git.
  • Hands-on experience in developing advanced dashboards following industry best practices, preferably using Tableau.
  • Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and techniques, such as regression, classification, and clustering.
  • The capacity to analyze business requirements across various functional areas and translate them into KPIs, insights, data models, and dashboards.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, coupled with effective communication skills and a strategic mindset, enabling seamless collaboration with GTM leadership.
  • The ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the capability to work independently.

 

Nice to have:

  • Previous exposure to FP&A or similar teams
  • Previous involvement in fintech and familiarity with transactional data models.
  • Proficiency in using 3rd party tools, such as Salesforce CRM and SAP.
