This analyst will sit in our analytics org, embedding with the billing team.  The billing and payments teams are responsible for measuring our customers’ usage of our core product, Atlas, and the data they produce is the lifeblood of how we run the business in a data-driven way.  Virtually every team in the company relies on billing, including analytics, sales, marketing, product, accounting and commissions.  The analyst will help billing make better use of data, make their own data more resilient, and translate between the engineering-centric billing org and the broad set of downstream business users of the data. This is a new role with the Analytics Organization working directly with Billing, and will be pioneering many of the insights and metrics used to drive improvements.

This role will be based remotely in New York, NY.

Responsibilities
  • Build a strong relationship with billing engineering team, supporting them with data and analysis
  • Work with the billing leads and your manager to establish the nascent billing analytics function: establish an analytics roadmap that focuses on tracking and improving the integrity of our billing data and sustainability of billing infrastructure
  • Help set up advanced billing anomaly detection
  • Help with billing issues: Size impact, translate impact to stakeholders, calculate billing backfills and adjustments
  • Quantitatively measure success of new billing initiatives
  • Help make billing data more accessible to others on analytics and around the company
Skills & attributes
  • 3-5 years of hands-on analytics experience
  • Strong analytical and data wrangling skills
  • Outstanding SQL skills and knowledge of a scripting language (eg Python)
  • Experience working with engineers and “translating” between technical and business teams
  • Methodical with strong attention to detail
  • Experience working with finance/accounting functions preferred

Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:$88,000—$174,000 USD
