We opened our R&D Second Home (besides the one in Silicon Valley) in Prague in January 2020 and since then we have experienced unbelievable growth. Our Engineers are solving complex engineering problems (from low-level system software to cloud computing) that help us innovate our cutting-edge products. Besides our world-class Software Engineering teams, we have many other talented colleagues working in Product Management, Sales, Finance, and HR to name a few. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...
You will be responsible for design, development and expansion of data assets that support business intelligence, advanced analytics, and reporting. You will also develop, maintain, and support the enterprise data warehouse system, corresponding data marts, and data interfaces for use in reporting, analytics, and various applications. Deep experience building data management Data savviness and a keen understanding of data management life cycle is critical for this role. Crisp communication and the ability to influence decisions is also important. Program Management capabilities will be needed to successfully deliver in this role.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL BE...
- Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
- Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources into SnowflakBuild and maintain the data transformation layer for consumption by stakeholders.
- Keep our data secure while building data products to derive business insights from the data.
- Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.
- Team Lead responsible for the quality and on-time delivery of the development milestones.
- Responsible for coaching other junior members of the team on their deliveries.
- Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
- Communication with internal team members and stakeholders in other time zones for requirements clarification and progress reporting.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING...
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering
- Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL), and familiarity with various databases.
- Strong skills in building and maintaining data pipelines using tools such as SQL, Python, etc.
- Excellent knowledge and Proficient with Tableau development.
- Experience building and optimizing big data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
- Proficiency in extracting data from various sources, such as databases, log files, and APIs.
- Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
- A successful history of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large disconnected datasets.
- Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
- Experience in troubleshooting and debugging issues with data pipelines.
- Experience with big data tools: Snowflake, Spark, etc.
- Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Azkaban, Luigi, Airflow, Snaplogic, Boomi etc.
- Experience with AWS cloud services: Aurora, Redshift.
- Experience with stream-processing systems: Storm, Spark-Streaming, Kafka etc.
You will be based in Prague, Czech Republic. As this is an office-centric role, you are expected to be present in the office for 3 days a week. As outlined in Pure's Hybrid Work Policy, there will be variations over periods of time, depending on business need.
