Intercept Games is a Private Division/Take-Two development studio currently focused on the creation of Kerbal Space Program 2 (KSP2) as well as an unannounced stylized science-based adventure game. We have a deep love for space, simulation, strategy, and of course all things video games. The Challenge

Are you a passionate game designer and collaborative team member? Can you work along alongside a small, cross-discipline team to solve complex problems? If you said 'yes', this may be the role for you!

As a Senior Designer for KSP2 you will guide the design and creation of systems and content that best fits the vision of the game and delivers the best possible experience for our players. Operating with a feature team of engineers, artists, and other designers, together you will turn vision into plans, prototypes, and eventually final products.

What You’ll Take On
  • Given a vision and a set of features, design, develop, and deploy fully functional and authentic gameplay experiences.
  • Collaborate with artists, producers, QA, and engineers to bring KSP2 to life.
  • Learn how to simulate authentic space flight and develop tools for a game where there are many solutions to any problem.
  • Seek and digest feedback for the team. Reach out to collaborators to ensure that the features the team is delivering are mindful the complete gameplay experience.
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of professional game design experience.
  • Experience working on at least one shipped game in a senior design role.
  • Experience working with the Unity Game Engine.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, with the desire and ability to work closely with a diverse team of peers.
  • Ability to solicit and apply constructive feedback.
  • Bonus 1: experience with, and a passion for, sandbox and physics games is great to have, but not required.
  • Bonus 2: experience with user experience design, especially in scalable models.

The pay range for this position in Washington at the start of employment is expected to be between $80,000 and $120,000 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees will also receive 14 paid holidays per calendar year, are eligible to earn a minimum of 15 days of vacation leave per year (subject to proration based on start date during the calendar year) and will receive 10 sick days per calendar year. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
