Sr. Director of Technical Product Marketing 

Reporting to the VP of Product Marketing, this role will provide strategic planning and tactical execution of technical and practitioner content development, sales enablement, subject matter expert and user engagement for Sumo Logic (across Security teams, IT Ops/DevOps and DevSecOps personas). The successful candidate will bring a deep knowledge of cloud-native applications, application development, and reliability and troubleshooting. This leader will gain credibility quickly with sales engineers and our user community as the subject matter expert and drive technical thought leadership along with compelling and differentiated technical value propositions and messaging. The candidate will be a key contributor to roadmap prioritization, demo development, user education, product adoption, and feature discovery.

Key Responsibilities:Design and optimize all technical sales content, product demonstrations, enablement, and positioning for Sumo LogicAbility to clear articulate the business value or "Why a customer cares" for SumoLogic technologies and features.Hire, train, and lead effective Technical Marketing ManagersDevelop technical sales and marketing collateral, including reference architectures, technical feature presentations, benchmarks, technical and engineering level blogs, white papers, explainer videos and sales engineering-focused training coursesSupport customer meetings, roadmap delivery, and training Deliver enablement to sales, sales engineering and partnersDevelop competitive assessments and creative collateral to position Sumo uniquely in the minds of practitionersEvangelize Sumo Logic in ecosystem/partnering activities and combined value propositionsOptimize practitioner and user trials, PLG and sales funnels with strategies, tools, and assets.Support global cross-functional product launches

Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:Minimum 7+ years experience in product management, product marketing, sales engineering or technical marketing roles with a complex SaaS offering geared to DevOps and security audiences.Knowledge of the cloud, infrastructure, thread detection, incident response and observability ecosystemsExceptional written and oral communication skills to evangelize how Sumo excels at offerings for the various IT Operations persona both internally and externally.Highly technical to be able to independently develop demos, webinars, videos, technical collateral, ROI/value oriented assessments, etc.Highly collaborative work style to learn from others and build upon their ideas.Passion for driving product innovation and to effectively communicate cross functionally within Product Development, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales.Curiosity to learn the intricacies of Sumo Logic's business and adapt past experiences to Sumo Logic's current opportunities.

Sumo Logic Privacy Policy

The expected annual base salary range for this position is $220,000 - $297,000. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors which include (but aren’t limited to) role level, skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, location, and experience. In addition to base pay, certain roles are eligible to participate in our bonus or commission plans, as well as our benefits offerings, and equity awards.
