The role: 

The Senior ESG Reporting Manager is a key role in Lilium's commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.

The purpose of this role is to ensure that Lilium meets the increasing regulatory and stakeholder expectations on ESG disclosure and performance in alignment with Lilium's sustainability mission.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing Lilium's ESG reporting strategy, policies and practices, in accordance with relevant frameworks and regulations, such as the CSRD, ESRS, EU Taxonomy and SEC Climate Change Rule.

You will drive the design and implementation of the required processes for data collection and verification working closely with other departments and external partners.

By leading Lilium's ESG reporting function, the Head of ESG Reporting will contribute to Lilium's vision of creating a sustainable and accessible mode of transportation for everyone. This role reports into Lilium`s Chief Accountant and will be based at Liliums HQ close to Munich.

Your Day to Day:

  • Lead the preparation and publication of Lilium's annual ESG report and other ESG disclosures, in accordance with the CSRD, ESRS, the EU Taxonomy, the SEC rules and other relevant frameworks
  • Set up the required processes and procedures around data collection, verification and disclosure, in collaboration with other departments
  • Implement sustainability requirements in business processes, reporting and external communications including implementing pragmatic and auditable management and control approaches for current and evolving ESG regulations and related reporting into company’s financial statements
  • Monitor and analyze the evolving ESG regulatory landscape, standards and best practices, and ensure that Lilium complies with the applicable requirements and expectations
  • Refinement of company’s sustainability strategy focusing on capital market and investor expectations with interface to corporate reporting requirements
  • Advising management and Board on company’s sustainability objectives focusing on setting up company-wide sustainability management, organization and governance
  • Advise management on sustainability-related policy management, reputational risk and government affairs activities, including understanding the broader landscape to identify regulatory and critical competitive needs to support company’s sustainability strategy
  • Collaborate with business functions to monitor and track ongoing progress against company’s sustainability priorities
  • Prepare white papers and presentations for management on sustainability strategy and progress 
  • Prepare agendas, reading materials and focus areas for the Board’s Sustainability Committee

Your Profile: 

The successful candidate will be a self-starter that possesses excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, integrity and a strong work ethic. They will also have the following attributes:

  • A degree in finance, accounting, sustainability, environmental science or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in ESG reporting and sustainability management for a public entity
  • Thorough knowledge of ESG reporting standards and regulations, such as the CSRD, ESRS, the EU Taxonomy and the SEC requirements
  • Practical experience in designing and implementing ESG related reporting processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a high degree of initiative and creativity
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-changing environment and execute with urgency
  • Hands on mentality with excellent attention to detail
