ROLE MISSION

Working in partnership with our client, the Senior Localization Project Manager will be part of the global localization team in Amsterdam, where you will be reporting to the Language Service Director. Localization at OLIVER, and for our client, is centered around linguistic excellence, a great international team environment, and cutting-edge technology. We are responsible for the translation and cultural adaptation of everything that our client creates, from apps to sites, newsletters, or the text that you will see in their retail stores. Our work is not just about translation, it is about providing our users with an experience that feels local.

Our client is a global product, and our Localization team needs to scale to support that. We are currently looking for a Senior Localization Project Manager to help the team develop so they can better support the client, increase efficiencies, and bring processes and technology to the place that markets require.

As a Senior Localization Project Manager, you manage different projects, support the Language Service Director to develop the team, find ways to increase workflow efficiencies, and focus on delivering excellent deliverables for our client. You support all elements of the localization workflow, from ideation to job completion for an AB test, feature productization, or supporting effort. However, your main priority is the team and their growth.

Your attitude includes a mindset to problem-solve, being proactive, having a solution-focused mindset, having strong empathy, great communicator, and ideally, having localization/translation knowledge. You have a demonstrated ability to manage priorities and projects and have the right mix of both leadership and interpersonal skills

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE

  • Manage end-to-end localization projects, including risk mitigation.
  • Support the global project management team with their specific KPIs, goals, and yearly objectives
  • Work closely with other senior project manager to support the team
  • Be the point of escalation for the Language Project Management team for anything related to HR matters
  • Support the career development plans for your team
  • Work together with the Language Service Director to support the client in the best way
  • Create documentation, insights, and reports that allow you to explain the work of the team so you can identify capacity needs
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
  • Able to multitask and pivot quickly
  • Oversee the localization metrics for your projects, including adherence to budgets, deadlines, and quality thresholds
  • Run project kick-offs and meetings with cross-functional groups to ensure alignment
  • Evangelize Globalization with stakeholders across OLIVER and our client

 

WHAT SKILLS WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL 

  • Ideally, a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Localization, Language Studies, or International Studies
  • 5+ years of prior localization project management experience, working on projects that involve language launches, software, and/or creative content localization
  • You feel comfortable with localization tools and understand the need for machine translation and how AI can help
  • Working knowledge of industry-standard localization tools and best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Bias to action, proactive & innovative by nature
  • Strong attention to detail
  • You are data-driven and understand digital marketing
  • You are available to work full-time (37.5 hours) per week and work onsite three days per week at the client's office in Amsterdam.
