About the team:

Be part of an exciting and growing Technology team focused on product development. Our team emphasizes collaboration and shared responsibilities, and you will be hands-on and involved in the entire Software Development Life Cycle. Our team is growing, and so will you! What you will do:

  • Lead a team of 6+ engineers building features on SecurityScorecard’s web platforms, public API, and other core products with a customer-centric approach
  • Collaborate closely and regularly with your squad’s Product Manager and UX designer to identify and design solutions to customer problems & opportunities
  • Participate in short-term and long-term planning and the execution of strategic initiatives to reach the organization’s business goals, with a clear understanding of what is a priority for the customer
  • Champion code quality and team collaboration by encouraging test-driven design, automated test coverage, readable and reusable code, following architectural best practices with the broader services in mind, as well as fostering a good rhythm of engineering sprinting
  • Contribute to the architecture of a complex SaaS platform, being aware of existing patterns, balancing trade-offs short and long-term, and challenging decisions when defining projects and releases
  • Enable monitoring and observability of delivered software to ensure uptime and availability, which leads to customer satisfaction
  • Ensure a security-first approach when developing our products
  • Provide a long-term career plan for the individuals on the team, aligned with the long-term company vision
  • Create a psychologically safe environment for your team through the development and proactive communication of goals and objectives 
  • Join customer calls, being able to represent the company and the project in both written and verbal communication

 Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 years of software engineering and architecture experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams who built web applications or backend services, preferably with JavaScript (Node, React)
  • Experience as a people manager, building career paths, and hiring new engineers
  • You have previously led teams that built RESTful APIs, HTTP services, relational, and no-sql databases
  • Solid understanding of security best practices
  • A DevOps mindset and an appreciation for Continuous Delivery
  • Previous experience working for companies that have their own product
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional partners and independently drive projects and decisions, including customer facing written and verbal communication
  • You’re a team player and have worked in distributed self-organizing teams before
  • Experience building a relationship with external partners
  • Tech lead by example; you foster collaboration and are ready to jump in the trenches with the engineers in your team
