We are looking for a Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting to join Index Exchange (“Index”), one of the world’s largest independent supply-side platforms providing a marketplace for Digital Advertising. Index Exchange is a global company with offices in 15 countries and has experienced rapid growth. This role will focus on aligning Sales, Finance and Accounting through extensive cross-collaboration to drive accuracy, transparency and timely reporting in our billing and payment of publisher remittances.

This role will work out of our Toronto, Canada Office and report to the Director, Finance & Controller.

  • Project Management: Act as a technical leader on projects, architecting the design of projects to meet the needs of the business outcome. Collaborate with subject matter experts and with a network of peers to ensure on-time, quality delivery.
  • Driver of Outcomes: You are intentional in your path, establishing a vision or hypothesis, setting a direction, and guiding your team through execution. 

Here’s What You’ll be Doing:

  • Establishing and sustaining processes that enhance visibility and accountability around the processing of standard and non-standard customer payments, by ensuring consistency across systems and operations.
  • Find opportunities to streamline and automate processes to compile and analyze information from various sources and systems, while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the accounting records. This will be facilitated by partnering with Sales, Accounting and IT teams to refine processes for revenue recognition and reporting.
  • Work with Sales and Customer Success leadership to ensure there is clear visibility of the contract pipeline and to ensure it aligns with financial goals. Ensure all contract opportunities are vetted, onboarded and reported on in a centralized repository
  • Work closely with the Publisher payments team to integrate processes to align with the monthly financial reporting close process.
  • Building and maintaining dashboards for all custom agreements to ensure the accuracy of the administration of the relevant contract terms by Index.
  • Continuously monitor specific revenue share metrics with a good understanding of Index-specific key performance indicators and how they can be impacted.
  • Complete the timely review of monthly reconciliations of both standard and non-standard contractual arrangements between Index and the Buy/Sell-side. To ensure that adjustments and payments are accurately processed for payment.
  • Monitor and report on adjustments monthly, and investigate and resolve any discrepancies and unusual trends as they arise.
  • Exhibits a professional demeanor, attention to detail and a sense of urgency to achieve outcomes.

Here's What You Need:

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience in a combination of Big Four public accounting firms and in large multi-national companies  
  • Ideally, experience completing revenue accounting at a scaled tech company
  • CPA or significant finance & accounting experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, mentorship and communication skills
  • Very strong analytical and data manipulation skills, with the ability to design and track metrics and key performance indicators and turn them into actionable strategies
  • Must be able to present and share data in a clear and engaging manner
  • Experience in establishing complex business processes within a dynamic global company with a proven track record of success
  • Ability to build trust with cross-functional stakeholders to create trust and foster an environment for collaboration, knowledge and information sharing.
  • Deep knowledge of CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce) and their administration
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g. Looker), to be able to create engaging and insightful dashboards for monitoring and reporting.
