Senior Media Planner
MEDIA
The Senior Media Planner assists the media team in executing integrated marketing strategies. They are responsible for working closely with the team to create, activate and evaluate best in class cross-platform paid programs across digital and traditional media environments. They will also assist with reporting, ongoing campaign optimization, deck preparation and managing the Assistant Media Planners.
This person must have in depth knowledge of all digital channels including paid social, search, display, video, and other emerging channels. Experience in traditional (TV and Radio) is also helpful. The Senior Media Planner will be expected to have a strong working knowledge of the media space (including traditional media), available media research and expected to be proficient with key planning tools and procedures (both media and inter-department).
You Will:
- Guides team on the development of strategic and tactical media plans and supports the buying team and process for assigned client accounts.
- Uses tools to develop strategic communications plans based on execution strategy, rationale and buy structure to deliver on campaign goals.
- Brief partner agencies on strategic implementation needs and roles of specific communication channels.
- Accountable for each assigned marketing/media project and each phase (directly or indirectly) of the online marketing/media process: strategy, planning/buying, trafficking, optimization, and measurement analysis and ROI.
- Develops recommendations of the media strategies and deliver buy structures that encompass the best environments for each client’s target audience, while maximizing value and efficiency.
- Proactively keep abreast of industry trends and share knowledge with internal teams and clients developing “Point of View” (POV) documents on special opportunities.
- Responsible for relationship with third-party vendors – i.e. keeping up to date on all offerings and facilitating meetings between the vendor, client and team members.
- Manage deadlines and workflow (calendars, budgets, meetings) prioritizing tasks based on client deadlines and requests while maintaining quality and consistency of deliverables.
- Helps to identify development areas in team members to help achieve and drive their performance goals for the year.
- Responsible for training assistant media planners on all necessary planning tools.
- Must be comfortable working with Prisma: executes placements, maintains quality control on placements, handles back-end billing.
- Understand and utilize all research tools, both proprietary and syndicated: Including eMarketer, Nielsen, ComScore, Forrester.
You Have:
- 4+ years experience of media planning and/or buying experience focused on All Channels – Video, Display, Social, Programmatic, Broadcast, Etc.
- 2+ years as direct client leadfor digital media
- Strong priority/time management and organizational skills, as well as strong attention to detail.
- Previous people management experience with the ability to lead, coach, develop and retain top talent while helping address performance.
- High-level of confidence with an ability to manage expectations with internal and external stakeholders.
- Advanced analytical skills and proficiency with numbers and budgets to determine results of campaign.
- Advanced level MS Office skills: Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP’s), Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.
- Proficiency in digital media buying software (e.g., Mediaocean/Prisma),
- Familiar with and passionate about digital media
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Able to work effectively across functional groups or geographic offices
- Enthusiastic personality
- Able to work with minimal supervision while maintaining focus and productivity
- Able to quickly adapt to new situations
