The roleYou will report to the VP Financial Control and Enterprise Risk and will be responsible for optimising the efficiency of Finance operations and ensuring the ongoing effectiveness of controls. The role will deliver our Finance transformation objectives. The majority of your time will be allocated to mapping, re-designing and documenting processes and controls. You will collaborate closely with the process and control owners in Finance, but will leverage your expertise to limit the demands on their time. In conjunction with the Finance Project Manager, with whom you will comprise our Finance Transformation capability, you will be accountable for the implementation of process and control improvements, including automation provided by existing or new systems. Your work will require interaction with other teams across the business, but engagement will predominantly be with the Financial Control, Billing & Credit, Procurement and Management Reporting teams.

- The application of the know-how gained from a background in practice, consulting on Performance Improvement or Finance Transformation but with the opportunity to be responsible for implementing your recommendations.
- Autonomy in setting a standard process methodology, and collaborating in setting transformation priorities.
- Identifying Finance function and related activities in need of improvement.
- Mapping existing processes and re-designing them to meet current and future business needs.
- Engaging with Finance professionals to accurately document, improve and maintain policies and procedures.
- Identifying control weaknesses, and their remediation through the design and implementation of effective controls.
- Improving efficiency through the standardisation and automation of Finance activities.
- Working cross functionally and engaging with internal stakeholders at all levels.
- A Performance Improvement, Finance Transformation,, Internal control assurance or Operational Finance background in a Big 4 consultancy, joining straight from practice or having spent some time in industry.
- A solid understanding of Finance operations, processes and the role of IT systems e.g. ERPs.
- A qualified accountant or otherwise highly proficient in financial and management accounting.
- You will be an expert in the application of financial control frameworks (e.g. SOX) and skilled in designing, implementing and testing the effectiveness of controls.
- Skilled in tackling big problems with a structured approach, incorporating infrastructure development, automation, designing customer-facing processes, and monitoring.
- You have excellent communication skills and are able to bring the cross-functional team with you as you develop and implement new processes and controls.
- Self sufficient and able to plan and prioritise work with minimal supervision.
