About the Team

The Platform release team provides the framework, guidance, and leadership that empowers product teams to build and ship Elastic software every three weeks. We’re continuously evolving our release workflow and increasingly pushing boundaries toward a Continuous Delivery model for our Cloud offering. There are many challenges ahead of us, and we’re looking for someone to help us tackle them and keep our releases non-events, regardless of our scale. Does this sound like you?

Our release infrastructure is powered by technologies such as Gradle, Docker, Ansible, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Buildkite, common Cloud service providers (GCP/AWS), signing technology (GPG, Sigstore, and notarization), and languages such as Go and Python.

In this role, you will
  • Take over the architecting and implementation of the decentralization of our release flow in the Release Manager Gradle codebase.
  • Help re-think and evolve our time-based release process towards a continuous delivery model.
  • Work closely with the product teams to plan and coordinate the revamping of their build pipelines to optimize for build time and team ownership.
  • Mentor junior engineers on the team.
What You Bring Along:
  • Your experience in the software delivery ecosystem, working on CI/CD pipelines
  • A deep understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle: building, packaging, testing, and releasing
  • A passion for working across the org and interacting with internal customers
Other skills you will likely need to succeed
  • Proficiency with Docker and containerization
  • Experience with Kubernetes and one cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Experience with Buildkite, Jenkins, and other CI/CD technologies
  • Experience with build systems like Gradle, and Maven and languages such as Go and Python
  • Independent and driven, you have invested in your organizational skills and know how to “get in the zone” to focus on writing code
