Senior Research Analyst - Beauty and Personal Care, China

We are now looking for an experienced research analyst with a focus on Beauty and Personal Care sectors, including topics studying market trends and marketing strategies, consumers' behaviors and attitudes towards different trends, innovation, branding and marketing campaigns happening in these sectors, covering but not limited to Cosmetics, Households, Baby care, Personal care, and Beauty products.

 

What You Will Be Doing

1. Publishing in-depth insights combining market research and consumer insights:

  • Work with Research Directors to write and publish 7-9 reports a year covering a variety of consumer markets that demonstrate Mintel’s expertise in the subject field
  • Gather primary and secondary data relevant to each market, and work with Research Directors to develop accurate market, company and segmentation data
  • Build relationships with industry contacts to understand the key issues influencing consumers, innovation and company strategy, identifying the most relevant issues to explore in consumer research
  • Review mandarin translation of global market and product trend insight content, making sure we use professional and proper terminologies that resonate with local (mandarin-speaking) clients
  • Meet tight publication deadlines

2. Representing Mintel and delivering clients service

  • Handle client service requests related to the subject field
  • Support commercial team to proactively share Mintel’s insights with clients & prospects in face-to-face meetings
  • Promote Mintel’s brand in the marketplace by supporting marketing and PR activities such as media interviews

 

Who We Are Looking For

  • Insights-led: You should have at least 5 years’ experience in market or consumer research, marketing or consulting role and proven expertise in cross-category mind-set, ideally accumulated from the industry/client side
  • Observant: You have passion for, and knowledge of consumer markets (by passion we mean the sensitivity to what’s happening in the market through observation, and the patience to study deep into a subject)
  • Logical thinking: You are equipped with analytical skills, critical thinking, attention to detail.
  • Business acumen: You are able to develop insights that have meaningful business implications
  • Detailed Organizer: You have good organizational and planning skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Good English writing skills: You have solid business English writing skills and have written long articles/essays or reports independently.
  • (Beauty Insider: You have strong interest and acute sense in beauty and personal care industry. You are willing to try out new products or styles to get first-hand experiences.
