UX Writing is a core design discipline at Airbnb. Our team of 30+ writers works closely with  Experience Design, Experience Research, and Design Program Management to support the product development process from beginning to end. In this Senior Staff role, we expect you to bring serious storytelling chops, to have plenty of experience presenting and securing buy-in on your work with senior leaders across the company, and to set an incredibly high bar for quality across the Host product experience. You can expect to work closely with a cross-functional team as you lead UX Writing for an entire initiative from concept to execution. 

A typical day: 

• Work directly with Experience Design, Product, and Product Marketing partners to define the strategy and product requirements for major launch initiatives
• Lead UX Writing work across one or more major launch initiatives, which may include overseeing the work of other writers
• Set the content strategy and writing guidelines across those initiatives
• Present strategy, content, and design work to Design Directors, executives, or other stakeholders on your projects
• Write clear and concise copy across multiple product touchpoints
• Consider what language and design patterns best serve the UX
• Drive consensus with stakeholders and/or partners on content recommendations
• Manage copy deadlines and deliver detailed copy across multiple projects 
• Connect with our critical cross-functional partners—accessibility, anti-discrimination,  legal, localization—to ensure we have the proper input on our work
• Join writing team crits to present work and help sharpen the work of your teammates

Your expertise:

• 12+ years of experience in UX writing, content design, or content strategy 
• Proven ability to lead content/copy work from concept to detailed design
• Proven ability to guide the work of other writers on large projects
• Proven ability to successfully lead a team in an ambiguous work environment
• Significant experience presenting to and building strong working relationships with executive teams
• Has a experience writing content principles, messaging frameworks, and style guides for a wide variety of projects or product areas
• Comfortable driving design decisions through a strong understanding of user experience design principles and interaction patterns
• Comfortable working alongside other design disciplines in Figma, our primary collaboration tool
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in all stages design & build

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
