The Team:
You’ll have the opportunity to be a part of our Technical Program Management Team which sits within the Celonis Engineering Organization! You will be working with a cross-functional team and driving engineering programs in the area of Process Orchestration, Automation, API & AI. Explosive growth is very exciting but also requires seasoned people to help pave the way with experience to scale. We are looking for someone with a passion for technology, data, developer experience, AI and program management excellence.
The Role:
Join Celonis Engineering and play a key role as a Senior Technical Program Manager in Madrid. As a Senior TPM, you drive cross-functional programs by closely working together with Engineering, Product, Design, QA (and beyond) to get things done, drive towards clarity, serve as a communication bridge whilst removing ambiguity and complexity. You bring the ability to influence, agile expertise, technical proficiency and thought leadership. You will drive the execution of a new, unified strategy for our APIs and developer experience, further growing Celonis’ mature, enterprise-grade ecosystem.
The work you’ll do:
- Lead multidisciplinary cross-functional engineering programs in the area of API and AI
- Drive the execution of a multi-phase program to advance our platform capabilities, from setting the foundation to scaling and maturing our services
- Implement and evolve an adaptable, people-centric technical governance model that accelerates delivery while maintaining high standards
- Lead the evolution of the Celonis API strategy, including defining a comprehensive public API portfolio, establishing a streamlined enterprise-grade API platform and defining a governance framework
- Break down the programs into workstreams and coordinate across functional areas in order to deliver on one of the company strategies
- Leverage technical acumen to understand and contribute to Engineering Design Documents (especially with a focus on dependencies) and understand and translate (if applicable) the PRDs into engineering working packages
- Present and advocate complex business and technical concepts with Engineering Leadership and Executive Management
- Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple groups and to different stakeholders
- Manage risk, communication & monitor, program schedule, review program progress and timelines; and identify and resolve issues to ensure joint success
The qualifications you need:
- 8+ years of experience in Technical Program Management within a SaaS software company
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience & skillset
- A proven track record of successfully driving large-scale, cross-functional technical programs from inception to completion, especially those related to platform development, APIs, or developer-facing services
- Experience establishing and managing lightweight technical governance, standards, and best practices across multiple engineering teams.
- You can derive status, key risks, and can synthesize information, drive clarity and accurately communicate program status, issues, dependencies & risks to leadership & other program stakeholders beyond Product & Engineering
- You can explain your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.
- You have an entrepreneurial spirit, are self-sufficient & able to operate in a fluid, ambiguous environment
- Design plans to manage highly ambiguous programs in partnership with Senior Management
- Proactively address risks, dependencies, trade-offs, escalation, or technical constraints for timely mitigation and resolution
- Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple teams with competing priorities
