The UX team are the DNA that exists to connect our customers, business and brand. We play a pivotal role in helping and supporting our customers on our Zero Carbon journey by crafting experiences that power the movement today and lead the path to the future. 

 

This role in a nutshell:

We’re seeking a Senior UX Design Manager to lead a team of UX Design Managers, Product Designers, and Content Designers. You will balance your time between collaborating with peers in Product and Engineering to set and realise a design vision, and coaching your team to advance our craft.

Your key outcomes will be:

  • Lead, grow and inspire a team of Managers and Designers
  • Coach and develop designers, promoting skill growth and career advancement to equip them with the right skills and behaviours to lead teams through growth and change
  • Build and sustain a highly engaged, challenged and fulfilled team
  • Provide strategic leadership to the UX team, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
  • Establish and maintain design standards to ensure consistency and quality across all products, conducting design reviews to provide constructive feedback ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Take a proactive approach and ownership in leading our UX Leadership team to build an inclusive creative culture and drive cross-team initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, partnering with the Head of Product and Head of Engineering to ensure alignment with overall business goals
  • Raise the profile of UX across the business
  • Foster collaboration between design disciplines, stakeholders and peers
  • Establish, scale and champion user centred design methodologies and ways of working

Who you are:

An experienced design leader who:

  • Is highly creative, inspiring and engaging
  • Has a track record of managing managers, Product Designer and Content Designers – from fostering growth and talent to recruitment, retention and performance management.
  • Cares as much about the words as the visuals to create effective experiences 
  • Has excellent communication skills and the ability to build compelling narratives told in a succinct way
  • Is comfortable being more hands on from time-to-time (estimated 5% of the time)
  • Has case studies which demonstrate your approach and the impact you’ve had

You’ll be a successful Senior UX Manager at OVO if you…

  • Continually demonstrate the value of design through business and customer metrics and results.
  • Lead complex projects and large groups of stakeholders
  • Are comfortable presenting to large, diverse audiences including C-Suite executives
  • Have in-depth knowledge of mobile ecosystems and mobile-first design strategies
  • Have managed budgets and third-party vendors
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and take accountability for driving results

You won’t like this role if you…

  • Would prefer to be fully hands-on doing the design work

We’ll pay you between £95,000 and £100,000, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us!
