Working within OVO’s Energy function, this role sits within the Value area of the Energy Economics team. We’re a team leading the goal of Zero Carbon Living; a team of experts on energy who are vital in OVO’s work to develop market leading propositions and tariffs for customers.

This role in a nutshell:

You’ll work with our Growth, Renewables, Zero Carbon Living, and Proposition teams to provide first class reporting and analysis that will drive smart commercial decisions and ensure Value is maintained across all our tariffs and propositions. You will have direct responsibility for addressing and leading complex changes. 

Your key outcomes will be:

• Work closely with the relevant teams to help with the commercials and build business cases for industry leading ventures. These will cross EV charging, heat pumps, domestic battery systems, solar export, and more.
• Collaborate with and influence the Growth team, helping  innovate our pricing approaches and assuring the value within our tariffs.
• Develop and own a standardised model to support the value assessment of new tariffs and propositions against both short term and long term business goals.
• Develop positive relationships with internal stakeholders across all levels to consolidate and cascade information, highlight risks and opportunities, and develop business processes.
• Develop and maintain accurate and insightful reporting on the risks to Value to Ovo and its influence on Gross Margin, to support commercial decision making.
• Support the wider business to deliver price change and help with business processes that support the agile optimisation of our tariff offerings.

Systems

• Google Cloud Platform - particularly BigQuery and/or SQL, Tableau, Github

You’ll be a successful Value Analyst at OVO if you…

• Have 2+ years work experience in a commercial, analytical, or science based role.
• Have the commercial awareness to support prioritisation and communication at a senior level.
• Have the confidence and ability to influence stakeholders, including senior partners.
• Be comfortable working with ambiguity and not see it as a blocker to progress.
• Have the ability to learn quickly in order to develop a detailed understanding of existing models and processes.
• Are highly analytical with strong data manipulation skills and good to excellent Excel/Google sheets knowledge.
• Have proven high attention to detail and  strong communication skills.
• Are a self-starter, comfortable working both autonomously and with colleagues to deliver value in a small, high-functioning team.
• Are able to cut through the noise and provide actionable commercial insight in an arena where there are many unknowns.
• Have used BigQuery or SQL to build robust reporting and analysis.
• Have some experience with data visualisation tools (ideally Tableau).

We’ll pay you between £45,000 and £60,000, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us!
