Senior Veterinary Relations Manager

As part of this mission, Chewy is hiring a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Vet Relations Manager to join our Healthcare Team based in Boston, MA. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing Chewy Healthcare's veterinary events strategy, with a focus on driving engagement and education among veterinary professionals – from large veterinary conferences to on-campus gatherings. This person will be responsible for overarching strategy and management of Chewy Health’s regional veterinary conferences and support our VMX and WVC presence. This role will work closely with marketing, talent acquisition, and our B2B lines of business to ensure a seamless and effective presence at these critical venues. The work this individual accomplishes in 2024 will lay the foundation for an enhanced in-person meetings & events presence in 2025 as we continue to grow the business, gain partners, and recruit veterinary professionals to work at Chewy Health.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive events strategy for Chewy’s veterinary-facing events.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to create engaging profession-facing content (giveaways, collateral, digital assets, display kits, etc.) that aligns with Chewy Health's mission and product offerings.
- Identify and execute exhibit and sponsorship activations to drive top of the funnel leads to talent acquisition.
- Build and maintain relationships with veterinary professional organizations, speakers, and sponsors to ensure successful event planning, execution, and return on investment.
- Manage event logistics, including training staff, budgeting, vendor selection, contract negotiation, and on-site event management.
- Manage vendors and contractors to coordinate logo and media placements in digital, social channel, and print collateral.
- Partner with recruiting and sales teams to segment and deliver leads efficiently and effectively through proper channels.
- Work closely with on-campus team, advising on strategy and driving on-campus event presence.
- Monitor and track program metrics and KPIs, and use this data to continuously improve our outreach efforts and identify opportunities for growth.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
- 7 years of experience in event/trade show planning and management, preferably in the healthcare/veterinary field.
- 2 years of experience in a veterinary recruiting function.
- Familiarity with contracts and negotiations to ensure conference-related expenditures have a high ROI and are achieved at a reasonable cost.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with budgeting and financial management.
- High level of comfort in a fast paced, self-starter environment.
- Flexibility to travel up to 40% of the time.
