The FlashArray team builds the industry’s most innovative, high-performance, and highly available portfolio of products that are designed for the most demanding mission critical applications. While we deliver a hardware storage array, over 90% of our engineering staff are software engineers. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...
- Directly manage a development team focused on projects related to Linux kernel development, new Flasharray platforms, Fiber Channel and Ethernet protocols and features
- Work closely with Program managers, Release managers and other peer teams contributing to cross functional projects
- Work with partners and vendors to integrate third party deliverables into the product
- In coordination with Purity software teams - drive detailed software plans for Purity releases.
- Develop plans for continuous integration, and phased execution.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams in getting requirements.
- Responsible for the overall development life cycle of the solution and managing projects.
- Instill best practices of software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements and deliver high quality work on tight schedules.
- Clearly and regularly communicate status on how projects are progressing.
- Managing day-to-day software engineering development activities.
- Hiring, managing, monitoring and motivating software development team members.
- Driving innovation while at the same time managing software development schedules.
- Integrate software with existing systems.
- Driving company culture and career development to individual contributors.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 3 plus years of technical lead or management experience, while staying hands-on in development
- 5 plus years of Linux kernel or protocol development experience in servers, networking or storage, ideally on x86 NUMA systems.
- 2+ years experience collaborating with remote teams based in the US or some other country.
- Experience in technologies and industry standards such as NVMe, NFS, iSCSI, Fiber Channel, SCSI, or protocols such as SMB,NFS.
- Experience in Agile development and continuous integration in development projects.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages such as python/shell
- Working knowledge of Linux virtualization tools, or data path technologies such as DPDK
- Proven expertise in managing projects throughout the entire SDLC, delivering products to market on schedule, and ensuring feedback loops from customers into development
- Detail oriented, with experience in defining, partitioning, prioritizing software requirements across remote teams. Skilled in flushing out dependencies and roadblocks.
- Demonstrated skills of managing software innovation and meeting development deadlines in a product company.
- Data driven, with an ability to extract insights and make forecasts based on available information.
- Experienced in Agile and DevOps practices.
- Has prior experience in leading or delivering System Software solutions for Enterprise or Consumer domains.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Managed a team of 7+ software development engineers.
