The Developer Experience Services Team

Okta’s Customer Identity Cloud (CIC), powered by Auth0 technology, is an 

easy-to-implement authentication and authorization platform designed by developers for developers.  We make access to applications safe, secure, and seamless for the more than 100 million daily logins around the world. Our modern approach to identity enables this Tier-Ø global service to deliver convenience, privacy, and security so customers can focus on innovation.

The Developer Experience organization is responsible for the tools that our customers use to set up, manage and report on their installation.  We help unleash Auth0’s full potential for our customer’s journey.  We improve the experience of the developers using Auth0 every day.

 

The Engineer II Opportunity

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role will support the team as they progress on their large scale initiatives ensuring that the Customer Identity Cloud can reliably handle current and future customer usage.

 

What you’ll be doing 

  • Be a part of a collaborative and agile team, interfacing with the product managers and other teams to support shared services
  • Work with teammates to add features to the the Auth0 Management API
  • Support other teams by reviewing changes to shared services and addressing bugs
  • Work using NodeJS (Javascript/Typescript), MongoDB, and PostgreSQL 

 

What you’ll bring to the role

  • A passion for working on systems that are highly reliable, scalable, and secure.
  • Interested in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs
  • A solid understanding of Javascript and TypeScript
  • An interest in maintaining modernizing and optimizing large-scale distributed systems 
  • 2+ years of experience in a software engineering role
  • Thrive in a highly collaborative, fully remote, and distributed culture
  • Demonstrate ownership, accountability, attention to detail, and a customer-focused attitude.
  • Strong experience with unit, integration, end-to-end, and performance testing

And extra credit if you have experience in any of the following! 

  • Experience creating and maintaining public APIs
  • Experience working with a fully distributed, remote team
  • Existing knowledge of security engineering and application security
  • Experience solving problems at scale

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:$117,000—$175,000 USD The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between: $131,000—$197,000 USD
