Bengaluru is home to our brand new, strategic technology delivery center and will be critical to achieving our future growth plans. We are looking for best in class Engineers to come in and help scale our technical products and teams alike as we continue on our path to be the world’s number one online destination for the home. As one of the early members of the team here in our strategic technology delivery center, you will partner closely with our technology and business leaders from around the world to help build the platform to support our growth plans to $50B USD and beyond in the next 3 to 5 years.

The team in the Bengaluru delivery center can work across multiple domains that drive speed and convenience for the customer and cost efficiency across the full value chain. The work we do at Wayfair means we have to move quickly, collaborating with the best and brightest engineers, creatives, product managers, data scientists, and analysts to discover, build, and scale world-class software products.

What You'll Do:

  • Take complex engineering problems, design appropriate solutions, and deliver them fairly independently with limited oversight.
  • Work on a variety of technologies - from large batch processes using Apache Beam and Spark, to event-based systems using Kafka, K8s, and Flink to robust REST APIs.
  • Architect and implement robust, well-tested services. Provide technical design and code reviews for peers within your team and across the broader Growth and Ad Platforms org.
  • Provide insights into opportunity areas for the platform, influencing priorities and team roadmaps in close partnership with Engineering and Product leadership.
  • Be a multiplier, mentor other engineers on the team, and help them become more productive and implement engineering best practices.
  • Promote a culture of engineering excellence, up-leveling the technical expertise of engineers across Growth and Ad Platforms org.

We Are a Match Because You Have: 

  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering and designing systems at scale.
  • Experience developing applications using technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, SQL, and React.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Services such as PubSub, Dataflow, and Dataproc would be a plus.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration (CI/CD) practices and tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders alike.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and leading code reviews.
  • A track record of delivering in increments and learning as you go.
