We are looking for best in class Engineers to come in and help scale our technical products and teams alike as we continue on our path to be the world’s number one online destination for the home. As one of the early members of the team here in our strategic technology delivery center, you will partner closely with our technology and business leaders from around the world to help build the platform to support our growth plans to $50B USD and beyond in the next 3 to 5 years.

The team in the Bengaluru delivery center can work across multiple domains that drive speed and convenience for the customer and cost efficiency across the full value chain. The work we do at Wayfair means we have to move quickly, collaborating with the best and brightest engineers, creatives, product managers, data scientists, and analysts to discover, build, and scale world-class software products.

What You Will Do:

  • Build rich, responsive and fast frontend experiences seen and used by millions of customers everyday
  • Write thoughtful, scalable, reusable, well tested and performant frontend code using frameworks such as React and Next
  • Partner with Design Leads and Product Managers to turn wireframes and mockups into responsive, consistent UIs that leverage our central React Pattern Library
  • Work and collaborate with backend, GraphQL, App etc teams to employ industry best practices with regard to web standards, component breakdown, accessibility, cross-device design and page performance.
  • Lead and implement action plans and coding patterns that influence the broader frontend platform at Wayfair
  • Be part of the team that is leading the market in delivering the most delightful customer online shopping experience for home furnishings in a quickly changing landscape

What you bring to the table

  • Professional experience coding JavaScript, CSS, and HTML from scratch as well as a familiarity with modern client-side frameworks (React, Ember, Angular, Vue, Styled Components, SASS, etc)
  • 6+ years of experience in engineering, with a preference for candidates with a mix of start-up and large-company experience
  • A solid understanding of JavaScript state management libraries, such as Redux, MobX, or Apollo
  • Desired, but not required, you know responsive design principles to allow web pages to adapt to different screen sizes and devices, making them accessible to a wider audience, cross-browser compatibility is a plus
  • Proficient in testing and debugging techniques to identify and fix issues in their code
  • A passion for UI, UX, and Design Systems and working with designers to create engaging and intuitive experiences across devices
  • Experience in working with product managers and designers to define, break down, and collaborate on feature work
  • A genuine believer in constructive and respectful code reviews, retros, and collaborative problem-solving as the bedrock of a healthy team
  • Great communication skills and the ability to support technical decision making with the team.
