About the jobThis position is needed to help the Email Accounts engineering team build and maintain the email communications platform. On this team you will work on a critical platform that supports daily interactions from thousands of our customers worldwide. The ideal candidate for this role is a self-motivated individual, passionate about large-scale software design, development, deployment, and operation, with a growth mindset, eager to enhance Twilio's next-generation communications user experience.
ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you’ll:
- Develop and maintain software and software infrastructure, contributing to the overall success of our business objectives
- Work with a small and collaborative team, whiteboarding ideas, building full stack products, APIs and services
- Perform thorough and thoughtful code reviews to help maintain a high standard of code quality
- Support production operations, building, releasing and assisting with team on-call
- Craft clear and concise documentation

Required:
- 3+ years of software development experience with highly-available applications in a modern programming language. Go (preferred), Python, Scala, Java, or C++.
- Experience building and maintaining reliable, robust, and performant software that is scalable, testable and supportable.
- Recent experience designing and building RESTful API’s.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience.
Desired:
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Kafka, MySQL, DynamoDB
- Experience developing products on AWS
- Experience in configuration management and deployment systems
This role will be remote but is not eligible to be hired in San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, San Jose, CA, or the surrounding areas.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:
- Based in Colorado: $112,000.00 - $140,000.00
- This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
