Who We Are: 

The Bidding & Decisioning team builds solutions that constantly optimize hundreds of millions of dollars of Wayfair’s ad spend. Our solutions leverage extensive first and third party data and ML driven approaches to optimize all aspects of advertising such as ad spend, ad content, campaign structures etc. and touch multiple advertising platforms including Google, Meta, Pinterest and Tiktok. This team has the opportunity to materially impact billions of dollars in revenue. This role provides a great opportunity for strong leaders to materially impact billions of dollars in revenue, working closely with business teams, technology teams and data science teams to build innovative technology platforms that leverage ML at scale.This is a hands-on role where you are expected to balance people management, technical oversight, and cross-functional leadership.

What You'll Do:

• Lead one or more engineering teams. Manage, mentor and coach team members to help them reach their highest potential
• Partner as a thought leader with your Product, Data Science and Marketing peers to define the direction for your platform and build the roadmap for your team
• Own the technical vision for the team’s systems, including the full lifecycle of ML models in partnership with the science team (including data and feature engineering)
• Use significant depth and breadth of technical expertise to ensure platforms being built are scalable, maintainable and extensible
• Own all aspect of effective, iterative delivery of roadmap product features 

We Are A Match Because You Have: 

• B.S. or equivalent experience in computer science/related field
• 10+ years of software engineering experience including hands-on technical management building large scale systems, algorithms, and toolsets within the Machine Learning domain
• Experience partnering closely with data science/machine learning teams, working through the full lifecycle of ML models using very large data sets 
• Experience making architectural and design-related decisions for large scale platforms.
• Experience with Java and Python, relational and KV datastores, messaging systems and managed ML platforms such as Vertex AI, Sagemaker ( or equivalent)
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineers, scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders alike
