SPACEPORT OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN

The role of the Spaceport Operations Technician will be to provide administrative assistance to manage the organization’s housing accommodations, transportation, site amenities, and customer service activities. This person will help drive effective customer service strategies and support the Spaceport team and all customers. The duties of a Spaceport Operations Technician will include but are not limited to coordinating service operations, monitoring basic up-keep of the grounds, ensuring excellent customer service, engaging with customers, and upholding customer service principles. They will be the main point of contact for customer communication and Facilities/Housekeeping coordination. The Spaceport Operations Technician will support the mission by providing a foundation of understanding for excellent customer service and quality of living and visiting accommodations that boost morale and productivity within SpaceX.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide the highest quality of service to Starbase guest and residents
  • Run the daily operations for the resident cleaning and traveler hotel accommodations
  • Assign cleaning tasks to housekeeping staff based on workload and room status
  • Conduct regular inspections of travelers’ rooms, public areas and tenant’s homes to ensure cleanliness standards are met
  • Monitoring productivity of team to ensure tasks are completed within standard time
  • Owning the dispatching, follow up, and guest recovery with all issues and requests
  • Train new staff on proper cleaning techniques
  • Maintain adequate levels of cleaning and guest supplies and equipment
  • Inspecting and routinely walking areas of responsibility
  • Enforce proper safety practices with staff

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of operations experience

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Comfortable working in a high-stress environment, balancing several projects at any given time, and having the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes
  • Knowledge of customer service and problem-resolution
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent knowledge of room inventory, housekeeping processes, and guest service
  • Ability to organize work for large groups in various service formats
  • Strong time management skills
  • Experience leading small groups in team settings of 5 or more staff members
  • Experience with facilities within a mid-scale sized operation
  • Ability to make independent judgments with limited information

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work all shifts and available for overtime and weekends as needed
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:   Pay range: Operations Coordinator: $21.00

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
