YOUR MISSION

In the context of “giving users easy access to anything in their city”, Glovo Express is our ultra-fast groceries delivery business unit. We aim to provide immediacy to all groceries product needs, delivering essentials in under 15 minutes from our Micro Fulfilment Centers.

The MFCs team is organised in sub-teams: Warehouse Operations, Supply Operations, Growth, Finance, People Operations and Buying. We are looking for a leader who can take our assortment and our buying department to the next level. This is an exciting time at ultra-fast landscape, join us in redefining the way humans shop!

THE JOURNEY

We’re looking for a Buying Leader for our MA market. Reporting directly to the QC General Manager, you will:
  • Together with operations, growth and finance teams, shape the strategic direction of Glovo’s ultra-fast solution, Glovo Express
  • Define and execute the strategy for the category management and buying organisation
  • Define and execute our assortment strategy to provide the most relevant assortment to Glovo Express users in all categories (ranging from fresh to ambient, frozen, hygiene, drinks, etc). Delighting the user with our assortment will be your northstar
  • Determine the supplier strategy (define portfolio of suppliers, negotiate commercial terms and define buying workflows and systems) and own the supplier relationships. Balancing customer needs and business needs will be your priority
  • Define and roll out our supply chain strategy to ensure the defined assortment effectively reaches the Micro Fulfilment Centers. Work directly with suppliers to minimise procurement costs across our assortment and ensure high instock rates
  • Design and implement the buying and category management organisation, hire, onboard and train a team of buyers, category owners and supply chain / instock managers
  • Undertake huge financial responsibility, acting as the ultimate decision-maker behind our biggest financial streams
  • In a nutshell, you are leading the Buying department of Glovo’s ultra-fast groceries offering and together with the General Manager are defining the future of the business.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDE

  • 5+ years of experience in Grocery Buying/Category Management/Vendor Management in the FMCG industry
  • Experience in a senior role, involving team management, project management, and ownership of a budget and structure
  • Experience managing and inspiring people
  • 360 degrees profile: you feel comfortable discussing operations, sales, and growth
  • Analytical mindset but with excellent execution skills
  • Excellent strategic thinking, including structuring complex problems and prioritizing effectively
  • You love and succeed building things from scratch - blank canvas - and scaling them up
  • Proactive, organized, and obsessed with details
  • An empathetic, inclusive and curious attitude
