Staff Engineer (Manila)
OVERVIEW
- Average Experience: 10 to 15 Years
- Client Facing: As Needed (Can be called in as subject matter expert, SME, for active work, growth opportunity or new biz)
- Technical Capabilities: Expert-level experience in three-five of our core languages and frameworks.
- Organizational Responsibility: Mentoring more junior engineers to enhance their technical knowledge. Leading technical discussion for selection of core languages, frameworks, platforms, standards, and build process. Proposing accelerators and other solutions to carry a project’s technical solutions to future projects. Capable of building case studies and participating in new business initiatives to describe compelling features of a technical solution.Project Responsibility: Effectively contributing to one or more client projects and leading spikes to determine approach for tasks. Leading review of other teammates' solutions for architectural fit and conformance with code standards. Capable of creating standards for projects which are not represented in our core standards. Capable of interacting with client technical stakeholders and negotiating acceptable solutions. Capable of building POCs for multiple key features or detailed integration between systems.
Qualifications:
- Strong expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript
- Experienced building responsive websites and applications
- Expertise in any of the following frontend frameworks (NextJS, React, Angular, Vue, Svelte, etc.)
- Experience with Tailwind and CSS preprocessor (e.g. Sass, Less)
- Some experience integrating with backend CMS and API’s (e.g. WordPress, Drupal, RESTful API, GraphQL, etc.)
- Knowledgeable in web performance optimization and SEO
- Experience in Web Animation (either via CSS or JS)
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
- Strong understanding of developer tooling and workflow (Git, SCM, CI/CD)
Nice To Have
- Some experience in Web Designing tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop), and has the ability to translate layered composites into HTML and CSS
