  A bit about the role: Delivering health and happiness to dogs and their humans all over the world is no mean feat, which is why as we scale our operations and expand into new markets, we are seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer to join our Software Engineering team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a major redesign initiative and contribute to building a cutting-edge internal e-commerce platform. In this role you can expect to:
  • Work collaboratively with the technology leadership team, particularly our Engineering Manager, to shape global architecture, establish best practices, and contribute to the overall design strategy.
  • Engage in greenfield project work and play a lead role in rebuilding our internal e-commerce platform to be a market-leading solution.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to multiple project teams, ensuring the successful implementation of best practices in infrastructure as code, architecture, and DevOps.
  • Actively participate in projects from inception to completion, taking the lead on ad-hoc initiatives as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with our Engineering Manager and other key stakeholders on day-to-day activities and provide a broad technical understanding to confidently handle significant projects.

  A bit about you:
  • At least 8+ years experience in Software Engineering.
  • A true Ruby on Rails expert, plus full-stack development experience using Typescript/React.
  • Strong background in network, architecture, and AWS, with hands-on experience in infrastructure as code, DevOps, and CI/CD using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
  • Prior experience in e-commerce at scale, ideally with exposure to businesses similar to ours.
  • Proven ability to lead projects, drive design decisions, and implement best practices.
