As a Staff Product Designer on the Rider Segments team, you'll be a strategic force in shaping how Lyft builds enduring value and trust across our diverse rider ecosystem. This role demands someone who thrives in complexity and ambiguity, creating long-term solutions that accelerate team progress while amplifying impact through others.

The Rider Segments team pioneers membership and loyalty programs that transform occasional riders into lifelong advocates. You'll lead the vision and execution of groundbreaking 0→1 initiatives, while elevating the entire design organization through your expertise and leadership.

Responsibilities:
  • Shape strategic vision for rider loyalty and membership, aligning cross-functional teams and senior leadership around cohesive, high-impact solutions
  • Navigate extreme ambiguity to define and deliver 0→1 initiatives that unlock new business value and market opportunities
  • Elevate organizational design quality by setting standards, providing expert critique across all levels, and ensuring accessibility and safety compliance
  • Amplify impact through others by mentoring designers, facilitating stakeholder alignment, and resolving conflicts between competing interests
  • Influence without authority using compelling narratives and systems thinking to guide product direction and business outcomes
  • Partner with C-suite and VPs to ensure design work ladders up to company-wide strategic goals and anticipates future market needs
Experience:
  • 8+ years of experience working in Product Design, UX, UI, or an HCI related field with experience working on mobile and web design
  • Experience leading complex product initiatives that drove measurable business impact
  • Deep expertise in user-centered design methods and product development processes
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking, outstanding craft, and business impact
  • Outstanding visual design, interaction design, and product thinking capabilities
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills to articulate design decisions
  • Experience mentoring designers and elevating team capabilities
  • Highly proficient with design tools (Figma, Sketch, etc.)
  • Highly proficient with interactive prototyping tools (Framer, Principle, Origami, Cursor etc.)
  • Excited and comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

The expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco area is $176,000 - $220,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
