Fastly is looking for a Staff Product Manager (Media) to join the Product team. This person will be responsible for Fastly's Media products and will be responsible for driving the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of those products. The Media product line is foundational to the entire Fastly platform, and this person will play a pivotal role in strategizing and innovating to not only augment our core products, but also figure out the next big bets to further enhance our differentiation in the industry. If building a better Internet excites you, come join us!
What You'll Do
-
Define the strategy and roadmap for Media products, and partner with stakeholders across the organization to deliver these products for customers
-
Understand customer use cases across media and entertainment, publishing, and gaming; translating and synthesize those into crisp product requirements
-
Define and monitor product success metrics using data-driven goals
-
Deeply understand all the complex capabilities of our current product set and figure out how to offer a differentiated and tiered feature set for customers that have specific needs
-
Understand incoming customer requests, evaluate the technical complexity and broader applicability of these requests, and prioritize them for possible productization
-
Collaboratively lead cross-functional and distributed teams by building trusted working relationships throughout the company, at all levels of the organizations
-
Keep up on trends in the media and entertainment space, acting as Fastly’s subject matter expert internally and externally
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a self-starter with a natural affinity for the details of complicated systems while remaining focused on the larger vision. The person must have a “can do” attitude, great interpersonal and communication skills and a passion for learning, doing, contributing and growing with the Product team and the company.
-
8-10 years of product management experience
-
3+ years experience in CDN, media delivery, or similar fields
-
Independent leader who can execute with minimal supervision
-
A positive, get-stuff-done, curious and collaborative nature that thrives in a fast-paced environment
-
Ability to drive clarity through ambiguity looking ahead and to make decisions based on research and analysis
-
Technical / developer background - either a developer in the past, or PM experience with developer products who can speak to Codecs, QoE metrics, and media tooling
-
Familiarity and understanding of rights management, DRM, piracy concerns, and DMCA/DSA or other regulatory demands of media businesses
[OPTIONAL] We value a variety of voices, so this is not a laundry list. It would be an added bonus if you have experience in ANY of these:
