Our Opportunity:

We are looking for a Staff Research Scientist at our facility in Plantation, Florida, to conceptualize, formulate, prototype, and implement an integrated framework for assessing optimization frameworks that can lead to efficiency in Chewy’s supply chain.

What You’ll Do: 

• Design experiments using advanced simulation capabilities and A/B testing.
• Be a subject matter expert in basic and advanced statistical techniques.
• Deep dive big Supply Chain data to explain change, find hidden opportunity, and provide recommendations.
• Implement process improvement initiatives that drive change to metrics and streamline the Supply Chain.
• Develop algorithms and scripts for production systems.
• Be a subject matter expert for Supply Chain data and processes.
• Partner with Supply Chain’s functional areas (Supply Planning, Network Planning, Demand Planning, and Transportation) to provide insight and promote action.
• Telecommuting permitted.

What You’ll Need:

• Master’s degree in Economics, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related field and 8 years of experience.
• Will accept Ph. D and 5 years of experience.
• Experience must include 5 years with: Python/R mastery, and proficiency in SQL;
• translate complex data sets and research into simple business recommendations;
• navigate complex frameworks and coordinate with IT and BI business partners; and
• use collaborative tools (Git, Confluence, etc.).
• Experience must also include: Supply Chain, E-commerce, retail, or startup experience.
