Wise is one the fastest growing companies in Europe and we’re on a mission to make money without borders the new normal. We’ve got 16 million customers across the globe and we’re growing. Fast.

Current banking systems don’t let us send, spend or receive money across borders easily. Or quickly. Or cheaply.

So, we’re building a new one.

We need a Software Engineer – Site Reliability Engineering to join our mission and help us build a global platform that’s scalable, reliable and secure.

About the role

The SRE team’ mission is to focus on engineering-wide reliability problems at Wise. We set the reliability standard we expect of our hundreds of microservices to achieve, we do this via libraries, tooling, documentation, consulting and hands-on contribution.

As we scale we continue to push our teams to run autonomously. They are closest to our customers, so they’re empowered to prioritise and deliver, without being told what to do by leadership. This means they can move fast and run multiple projects at the same time.

How we work

We operate on a strong belief in automation, programmatic implementation, and reusable design. We’re looking for people who can step back and think holistically about the ecosystem, but also follow through and help implement the design; drawing on the resources across the rest of the platform tribe.

As we grow, you’ll be working with product and platform teams to tighten the loop between the two, you’ll work to identify potential reliability issues before they impact our customers, and measure our reliability to help teams make data-driven decisions.

We need to sustain this growth by continuously iterating on the services we run, with a focus on availability, security, and ease of use. We’re looking for a dependable engineer with relevant experience who can evaluate complex requirements and deliver simple solutions to help our teams achieve our mission with speed and confidence.
