The Ripple Payments team is at the forefront of delivering on this vision. We are revolutionizing the $155 trillion cross border payments market by maximising digital assets to implement a faster, cheaper and more reliable payments platform. 

We are looking for Software Engineers passionate about solving exciting problems in the cross-border payments space. We are passionate about the growth of our engineers and place a premium on career development. You will have a high degree of accountability and responsibility from Day 1.  

This role is within the Enablement team of Ripple Payments Engineering.  This team is responsible for developer experience and enabling the operations, infrastructures, tools and processes to optimally deliver product features and building out the future platform to bring best in class customer experience.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Be a bold builder, working up and down the stack, mixing software  engineering, data engineering, and distributed systems knowledge to build modern enterprise payment applications.
  • Build reliable, high-throughput, low-latency microservices to power flawless cross border transactions.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle by capturing requirements, demonstrating sound software design principles, and ensuring operational excellence with unit and integration testing, and by ownership of monitoring and resolution of production issues
  • Int his role, you will be providing technical leadership and sharing your expertise with the growing builder organization
  • Work with teams across the organization, including product, legal, and business development to think beyond the technical implications of your design decisions
  • Continuously raise our standard of engineering excellence by implementing and driving standard methodologies for coding, testing, and deployment  
  • Proactively identify customer and infrastructure problems and drive corresponding solutions.
  • Mentor and support growth of junior engineers.
  • Contribute to hiring plans and long term team strategy.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING: 

  • 8+ years of hands-on Software Development experience on large scale distributed systems, with the last 5-7+ years in Java or similar (Go, Python) and 2+ years experience working as a tech lead
  • Experience in building transactional systems backed by modern persistence technologies (Aurora, DynamoDB etc.)
  • Experience with Agile development of distributed services, with a focus on robust software design, scalability and security.
  • Experience building and deploying containerized applications into modern distributed computing environments (Kubernetes, Nomad etc.)
  • Experience driving long-term cross team engineering initiatives
  • Preferred DevOps and Platform experience, with deep expertise in Kubernetes working with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS.  This includes experience with deployment pipelines leveraging common CI/CD tools, Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation, etc)
  • Preferred, experience working with AWS CLI, IAM, ECR, ECS, EC2, S3/EBS/EFS, Security Groups, VPC's, RDS/Aurora, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, CloudFront, Cognito
  • Security awareness, with an emphasis on designing for security best practices
  • Eagerness to work openly and collaboratively with a diverse team
  • Ability to encourage and drive engineering best practices
  • A positive attitude and a passion for sharing knowledge
  • BS or equivalent experience in Computer Science or similar
