SUPERVISOR, MATERIALS MANAGEMENT

Supply Chain is vital to the successful operation of the Rocket Development Facility. This role will be in charge of the Texas site Materials Management team and will be responsible for storing and issuing components, purchase parts, machined details, and assembles to support manufacturing operations and other areas as required. This supervisor will also be responsible for leading and driving continuous improvement throughout all aspects of their operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leadership – Manages an hourly workforce, assesses employee performance, provides positive/constructive feedback, facilitates conflict resolution, and addresses repeat issues with corrective actions, performance improvement plans or through disciplinary means. Runs reports, and monitors performance metrics by reporting overall health and escalating issues to upper level management on a weekly basis.
  • Role Model – Leads by setting an example, taking feedback from all levels of the organization, and motivating your organization to achieve the highest level of results.
  • Coordination – Works with cross functional teams to ensure both upstream providers and downstream customers are well informed of any schedule or material availability impacts.
  • Safety – Monitors and improves operations by ensuring a safe work environment with the goal of zero OSHA recordables annually.
  • Warehouse Operations – Manages and trains inventory personnel to properly put away, pick, and issue materials in accordance with priority.
  • Planning – Leads the team through safety stock and work order planning to ensure the most cost-effective stock strategy for the build and maintenance of ground support and test equipment.
  • Quality – Ensures business practices are being followed to not only guarantee the processing of product in a quality manner, but also meet those needs outlined in AS9100 and customer flow-down requirements.
  • Customer Service – Manages operations that provide industry leading levels of customer service in all operations; recognizes the needs of the business and adapting to support our mission.
  • Cost – Leads cost saving opportunities, and identifies internal/external cost reductions and optimization opportunities.
  • Cycle Counting – Ensures cycle counting procedures are routinely followed to meet both our internal and external audit requirements.
  • Process Improvement – Drives projects and changes that contribute to materials management’s ongoing improvement.
  • Shelf Life – Ensures procedures are routinely being followed for shelf-life storage and maintains proper rotation of stock, FIFO.
  • Environmental Controls – Ensures the appropriate environmental controls are continuously effective, depending on the material requirements of the items being stored within McGregor, TX.
  • Mentorship – Actively monitors and grows the workforce by ensuring team members are challenged and performing at the expected standards.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of leadership experience in materials management, supply chain, or inventory within a production/manufacturing environment; or 6+ years of leadership experience in materials management, supply chain, or inventory within a production/manufacturing environment

 PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience working with enterprise resource planning (ERP)/inventory management software
  • Experience working with material requirements planning (MRP) systems
  • 5+ years of leadership experience within materials management
  • Experience using WarpDrive
  • Completion of a leadership or rotational development program
  • Association for supply chain management (APICS) certification – certified in production and inventory management (CPIM) or certified supply chain professional (CSCP)
  • Lean/6-Sigma experience
  • Green/black belt certifications
  • Ability to operate forklift equipment
  • Excellent communication and team-building skills
  • Organized and self-driven, capable of working independently with little direction
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced/cross-functional environment
  • Experience within an aerospace, aviation, or automotive manufacturing environment
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment
  • Good response to challenges posed by short deadlines
  • Acute attention to detail

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lifting up to 25 lbs. (unassisted), standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing stooping, stretching and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
  • Must be willing to travel to other sites, as required (up to 25%)
  • Must be available to work extended hours and weekends when necessary; flexibility required

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:      

Pay range:     Supervisor, Materials Management: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00/per year   

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
