Supplier Quality Engineer
Your daily workout
- You will be part of a small interdisciplinary team, based in Denver, CO with the task of building up our US production capabilities in coordination with our headquarters in Munich, Germany.
- You will be responsible for all quality-related topics from supplier selection, qualification and onboarding.
- You will perform process and product audits in coordination with the team in Munich.
- You will be responsible for prototype evaluation and initial sampling for pre-series and series releases and for continuous improvement in mass production.
- In the case of complaints, you ensure the introduction of sustainable measures and are not afraid to do some hands-on work on our machines yourself to get to the root cause of the problem.
- You will apply common quality methods and moderate CIP workshops with interdisciplinary teams.
- You have a successfully completed engineering degree, preferably in the field of mechanical engineering or a comparable qualification.
- You have at least 5 years of professional experience in quality management with a focus on supplier quality, auditing new product introduction (NPI) and quality implementation.
- You have a very good understanding of industrial manufacturing processes for mechatronic systems (metal fabrication, robotic fixturing and welding, powder coating, and machine assembly processes).
- You have very good knowledge of technical drawings and 3D measurement technology to ensure drawing conformity and to help us adapt our metric material based drawings into US customary and imperial materials.
- You have very good knowledge of common quality management tools, from the APQP process and PPAP to problem-solving tools such as A3 or 8D.
- You are enthusiastic about "Go and See" and undertake regular national and international business trips (up to 50% of your working time when it's “Go Time”).
- You have very good communication skills in English (basic German is a useful plus) which makes it easier for you to work internally and externally with suppliers at different levels.
- You are valued by your colleagues and suppliers as a reliable and trustworthy partner.
- You have a very good understanding of our products and the requirements placed on them.
- You have successfully relocated first assemblies to the USA.
- You have established the first phase processes to meet the growth in the USA and have a handle on future phase implementation plans.
- You will earn an annual salary of $95,000 - $115,000.*Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location.
