The SVP, Global Partners & Alliances opportunity

The SVP, Global Partners & Alliances is a seasoned executive responsible for the indirect go to market strategy, partner programs, operations and revenue for Okta’s entire product portfolio. All partner based routes to market are part of Okta’s Global Alliance org, including Cloud Service Providers, GSI/SIs, MSPs, Solution Providers, Scale Resellers and Distribution. This SVP will drive the global partner strategy in alignment with Okta's GTM sales strategies and segments. 

As the SVP of Global Partners & Alliances, you'll lead the Global Partner team while taking ownership of the development and execution of programs to grow the value and contribution of the partner ecosystem across all routes to market. Success in this role will stem from building and driving strong collaboration with the Sales, Marketing and Services teams and partnering with the Field Enablement team to build a fully integrated partner strategy and ecosystem. This is an executive level, general management role that is also a high impact, quota carrying sales management position playing an integral role in the overall success of the company. 

The successful candidate will be a multi-dimensional thinker who operates not only on the basis of important past experiences, but also in light of new approaches and developments that occur in the market. 

*This role requires in-person onboarding and travel to our San Francisco, CA HQ office during the first week of employment.

What you’ll be doing 

  • Develop and implement the overall global partner and alliance strategy for the field 
  • Develop and implement robust business planning process and operational cadence across all partners that closely aligns to Okta geographic and market segments and required growth
  • Establish credibility within the industry and with Okta’s partners and targets
  • Collaborate with Field Leadership teams to deliver repeatable partnerships that add value to our customers, identify incremental customer opportunities, and assist in current sales pursuits 
  • Collaborate with counterparts in EMEA and APAC to share best practices and leverage partnership strategies and opportunities
  • Provide leadership to corporate, business and/or regional management regarding the execution of business strategies
  • Provide competitive intelligence for use in strategic analysis and positioning of company product offerings
  • Build a metrics driven organization through evolved reporting, dashboards, and tracking channels to provide actionable insight on performance and growth opportunities 

What you’ll bring to the role  

  • Proven results as a VP/SVP, Partners & Alliances or a similarly relevant role within the tech space, minimum of 10 years of experience 
  • Demonstrated experience leading and scaling Partner organizations with scale north of $2B+ and growing Partner teams to 100+ people 
  • IaaS, SaaS, PaaS, and developer background with a deep understanding of value drivers in recurring revenue business models 
  • Must have sold complex, technical products, ideally infrastructure related. Security and/or identity experience is valued but not required 
  • Consistently demonstrate a passion for Okta’s core values
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree, MBA or similar preferred

Below is the annual On Target Compensation (OTE) range for candidates located in California. Your actual OTE, which is inclusive of base salary and incentive compensation, will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable) and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The OTE range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between:$435,000—$653,000 USD
