We design, develop and deploy technologies that change our world, fund startups across industries and partner with leading global research organizations and universities to solve problems. As part of Jump’s IT Helpdesk, you will work directly with our end users to provide advanced technical support. You will be part of a team tasked with maintaining and monitoring our desktop and laptop fleet, striving for uptime, efficiency and predictability. Our team prides itself on excellent customer service and high customer satisfaction by having a can-do attitude. We want your help to ensure proper response times are met and issues are being resolved.   The Tech Services Support Engineer will support Jump’s Infrastructure to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficiency of operation through automation. This role provides an opportunity to work on cutting edge global infrastructure, working closely with other teams at Jump while offering local support to a rapidly expanding office. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a fully automated and highly agile infrastructure, always looking for ways to improve. Each day you will face exciting challenges in Jump’s fast paced, innovative and diverse environment.   What You'll Do:
  • Be focused on solving problems via automation first mind
  • Invest time in R&D and testing to develop innovative, technically demanding, solutions to unique problems facing our team and the company.
  • Act as a senior contributor to the support of our virtualisation infrastructure and platform
  • Contribute to and lead specific projects to enhance our Windows infrastructure such as:
    • Delivering a best-in-class VDI experience via Citrix Virtual Desktop
    • Enhancing monitoring of new and existing platforms via open source or commercial tools, producing central monitoring dashboards using OSS tools
    • Integrating OS and other Windows applications with other tools used within Jump.

Skills You'll Need:

  • At least 5 years of professional work experience with PowerShell and C#
  • Strong knowledge of virtualisation infrastructure 
  • Be an enthusiastic owner of infrastructure, including taking part in a on-call rotation and working to automate as many tasks as possible
    • Be part of a team responsible for managing Enterprise storage and Backup systems
  • Be familiar with networking fundamentals and basic troubleshooting
  • Be comfortable interacting Linux systems as they interact with our team’s technology
  • Provide operational support of our users within the region as required
  • Willing to operate far outside your comfort zone and existing experience, and ability to be a part in regular sensible risk management decisions (Jump is not a process driven environment)
  • Other duties as assigned or needed
