Mission

As a Technical Curriculum Developer at Databricks, you will develop technical learning materials that follow curriculum development best practices. In this role, you will own the full learning content development lifecycle from the development of learning objectives and content design, through content launch and maintenance. The courses you will develop and maintain will focus on how to use the Databricks Lakehouse Platform for data engineering, machine learning, and data analysis workflows. As a member of Databricks Curriculum Development Team, you’ll work closely with global stakeholders, product managers and engineers, technical subject-matter-experts, and other technical curriculum developers to deliver high-impact learning content for both self-paced and instructor-led training.

 

Outcomes

  • Create and maintain multi-modal training content for Databricks customers using the latest versions of the Databricks Lakehouse Platform, Delta Lake, Python, and SQL
  • Work with subject-matter-experts to research, scope, and design hands-on, learner-centric courses
  • Provide guidance on solid instructional design/curriculum development principles. 
  • Support instructors with adopting new materials and updates via creation of instructor guides and train the trainers

Skills/Experience

  • Able to learn new technologies quickly
  • Strong analytical skills and data driven decision making
  • Experience with Python software development lifecycle (Git, testing, modularization, etc.)
  • Strong proficiency in SQL
  • Experience with Databricks capabilities related to data engineering (Delta Lake, Apache Spark, Databricks Jobs, etc.)
  • Understanding of topics related to big data engineering such as data streaming, pipeline optimization, deployment, and data security
  • Familiarity with at least one common cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or Google Gloud)
