Treasury Analyst

Position Overview
The Treasury Operations Analyst will work directly with the Fund Accounting leadership teams as they build out the processes and platform of the Treasury Operations team. This person will need to think creatively to develop fresh approaches to challenges and will develop exceptional project management skills. This person will support critical initiatives to facilitate the automation of the departments cash movements and be responsible for day-to-day cash movements related to investment activity, capital activity and loan transactions. The ideal candidate is extremely detail-oriented and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and will be expected to collaborate daily with the investment operation and fund accounting reporting teams.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with bank account relationship management, including opening and closing accounts as well as developing and maintaining relationships with bank operations’ teams
- Play an integral role in the design and implementation of a Treasury Management System
- Maintenance of records in the Treasury Management System
- Set up wires and wire templates
- Monitor cash activity to ensure all wires are processed and incoming cash has been received and troubleshoot any cash activity issues
- Confirmation and maintenance of investor wiring instructions, new vendors, and underlying general partners to the StepStone Funds
- Monitor cash balances, make recommendations and coordinate capital activity with the fund administrators
- Review cash flow notices prepared by third-party administrators including reviewing allocations, reviewing notices and reviewing ILPA templates along with sending notices for posting to an investor portal
- Reconcile cash flow notices received with fund administrators
- Follow up on distributions and capital calls not received
- Troubleshoot any daily cash activity issues
- Review vendor invoices and prepare the allocations to funds
- Review fund legal agreements to determine allowable expenses
- Review invoices against contracts and engagement letters from outside vendors
- Reconcile payables and receivables between funds and corporate accounting records
- Build reference tools and process documents to support the fund expense allocations
- Daily management of the Accounts Payable and Treasury mailbox
- Process line of credit draws and payments
- Purchase and convert foreign currency
- Ensure compliance controls over cash receipts, disbursements, and user entitlements
- Support special projects and acquisitions as assigned and needed
- Assist in the preparation or reports for investors, investment operation and funding accounting reporting teams
- Develop and refine documentation regarding standard operating procedures
- Enforce internal controls to the highest standard
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field
- 2-3 years of private market industry experience in fund accounting or treasury management
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Acute attention to accuracy and detail
- Strong time management, prioritization, and communication skills
- Strong adaptability to learn new systems and Microsoft tools
- Self-motivated, proactive and focused with a strong work ethic
- Willingness to ask questions
- Experience with Power BI, Excel, Power Pivot, and SharePoint a plus
Salary Range - 65,000 - 77,000
The salary range is an estimate of pay for this position. Actual pay may vary depending on job-related factors that can include location, education, skill, and experience. The salary range does not include any benefits or other forms of possible compensation that may be available to employees.
