The Challenge

As the Vice President of Research Strategy & Community, you will be a key leader responsible for driving the company's research and thought leadership initiatives. Your role will be instrumental in helping shape our market presence, influencing industry perceptions, and driving insights in the trust space. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute comprehensive research strategies, ensuring that we generate and effectively distribute leading insights and content that differentiate OneTrust and keep us at the forefront of the industry. 

In this position you will report to the Chief Legal and Business Officer. Your work location will be remote with the ability to travel to our US Hub office in Atlanta and other Hub or field offices as required. 

You Will
  • Research Strategy Development: Create and lead the development of the company's research strategy, aligning it with our overall business objectives, strategy and customer needs. Identify research areas, emerging trends, and topics that align with the trust intelligence market landscape. Ensure the application of rigorous research methodologies and adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Thought Leadership Initiatives: Develop and implement a thought leadership strategy that elevates the company's reputation as a trusted authority in the industry. Define and help drive the creation of a compelling content roadmap, and the assets to drive it, including whitepapers, articles, and speaking engagements to position OneTrust as the thought leader in the Trust Intelligence Space. 
  • Market and Industry Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify key industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities. Leverage insights to guide content development that can be leveraged by product, marketing strategies, and field teams. 
  • Collaborative Partnerships: Help create strategic partnerships with leading industry experts, research organizations, academia and regulators to enhance our research capabilities and access to market insights. 
  • Team Leadership: Help build a high-performing research and thought leadership team, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. 
  • Content Development and Distribution: Oversee the creation of engaging and informative content that showcases the company's expertise and value proposition. Ensure content strategy is tailored for different audiences and distributed through various channels effectively. 
  • Thought Leadership Events: Organize and participate in thought leadership events, webinars, and conferences to showcase OneTrust's research findings and perspectives. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, industry analysts, and partners, to gather insights and incorporate feedback into research and thought leadership strategies. 
  • Research Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain robust quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and credibility of research outputs. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in research methodologies, data analysis, and written products. 
  • Thought Leadership and Public Engagement: Represent OneTrust at conferences, symposiums, and other public forums. Contribute to thought leadership initiatives, publish research findings in reputable outlets, and engage with media to amplify the impact and visibility of the organization's research.
  • You Are
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree and/or certifications preferred (e.g., MBA, Ph.D.)
    • Proven experience in research strategy development and thought leadership initiatives, preferably within the technology or software industry.
    • Minimum of 12+ years of experience in related position and industry
    • Strong understanding of the trust intelligence market and industry trends.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to build and motivate teams.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities.
    • Collaborative and adaptable; able to work effectively in dynamic environments while thriving under pressure and embracing change.

    For California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, and Washington-based candidates: the annual base pay range for this role is listed below. Within this range, individual pay is determined by several factors, including location, job-related skills, work experience, and relevant education and/or training. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, equity, and/or commissions, as well as benefits.
