Data Engineer 

As a Data Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to design, build, and maintain the data infrastructure that enables efficient and effective data processing and analysis. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs, develop data pipelines, and ensure data quality and integrity. You will optimize data storage and retrieval systems, implement ETL processes, and leverage various tools and technologies to transform raw data into actionable insights. Overall, the role as a Data Engineer is to empower the organization with reliable, scalable, and accessible data solutions that drive informed decision-making and fuel innovation.

What You'll Do:

  • Extract, clean, and validate data; troubleshoot and propose fixes;
  • Write code that matches provided design and assists with ETL processes
  • Provide technical consulting to users of data warehouse; ensures data availability and accessibility for end users by developing and maintaining the appropriate tools and processes.

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong communicator – able to communicate clearly and proactively and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Understand database technologies and team's tech stack (AWS, Spark, Scala, Java, Python)
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills; ability to maintain and debug data systems with little oversight
  • Strong business domain knowledge, ability to translate business requirements/requests to technical tasks
  • Develop advanced, efficient, and accurate logic using 1 programming or ETL language (Python, SQL, Java)
  • Reliably deliver assigned tasks with limited supervision, may begin to deliver tightly scoped small projects independently
  • Collaborate with immediate team to support broader team initiatives
  • Collaborate with business end users and engineering team to maintain data warehouse and debug data issues
  • At least 1-3 years of experience working on a software or data engineering team OR relevant BS degree in Computer Science or Mathematics
